Re: 'Islington parking issue boils over,' News, Nov. 21
Since l968 I have lived within three blocks of the Islington Avenue plazas where Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti seems determined to eliminate dozens of badly needed parking spaces. I do not see the need or logic of spending a pile of tax dollars to sacrifice these valuable parking spaces for green space.
I agree with Mammoliti's objective of cleaning up and chasing criminals out of the area. However, how will destroying dozens of parking spaces, which have been available to and required by customers and the business operators for many years, solve the problem?
Maybe everyone involved with this unfortunate situation, especially Mammoliti, needs to take a fresh look at the issue and arrive at a less destructive and costly solution.
