The new TELUS Business Centre has been launched at the Toronto Board of Trade, and is designed to provide local businesses with advanced communications solutions that will help them grow their business.
The TELUS Business Centre will provide work stations, thin-client computers, printing facilities and private meeting spaces, as well as access to sophisticated collaboration technology such as video and audio conferencing. Companies can utilize the business centre to extend partnerships, connect with colleagues in different cities and meet with new clients. It will also demonstrate the latest in technology applications for business including GPS and Visual Voice Mail.
"TELUS' partnership with the Toronto Board of Trade was a natural fit as we both share the same goal: to help promote small business growth in Canada," said Dan Golberg, vice-president, TELUS Small Business.
"At TELUS, we want to put the power of technology in the hands of our customers, and we know that a key challenge for Canadian small businesses is creating strategies that help increase productivity and business efficiency. The TELUS Business Centre provides businesses visiting the Toronto Board of Trade with the latest communications tools that may not be accessible in their traditional office space."
TELUS and the Toronto Board of Trade unveiled the TELUS Business Centre to celebrate Small Business Week, Oct. 19 to 25.
The event included a panel session with business guru Arlene Dickinson from CBC's Dragons' Den, Tony Lourakis, president and CEO, Complete Innovations Inc., Dan Golberg, vice-president, TELUS Small Business, and Carol Wilding, TBOT president and CEO, to discuss the trends and challenges facing small businesses today.
"As an entrepreneur, I know how important it is to employ the right tools to operate more effectively and build strategic partnerships to grow my business," said Arlene Dickinson, CEO, Venture Communications Ltd., star of Dragons' Den.
"I'm excited to work with TELUS and the Toronto Board of Trade to launch this incredible asset to emerging Canadian companies, the new TELUS Business Centre."
"We were pleased to work with TELUS, a principal sponsor of the Board of Trade, to launch this innovative business centre," said Wilding.
